Shoes to Get Married In

I love shoes. Well, I love looking at them -- different heights, colors, price points -- because I don't really have a budget to get all the shoes I want. It doesn't help that I always look at designer shoes, with Net-A-Porter being my favorite because it's just so easy to look at all the selections, narrow them down to only the features you want to see. It's also great that they have new selections every week. I must admit it's very therapeutic.

I would like to share with you several of my favorite shoes on Net-A-Porter. A lot of them won't be the typical wedding shoe, but I think it'll be lovely to have some hint of the unexpected in your outfit, kinda like a lovely surprise.

Christian Louboutin Lady Claude 120 pumps
What a fun shoe, I must say! It's like a disco ball on your feet. Don't mind the price since we're all just cyber window-shopping anyway but if you can afford to get this Swarovski-crystal encrusted shoe then why the hell not? Or make this your inspiration shoe and try to look for less expensive look-alikes.

Stella McCartney cage-effect satin sandals
I love this mustard-yellow shoe because, well, it's yellow! I have a thing for yellow shoes since it's kinda what I had in mind if and when I get married. It's made from cork, so it's lightweight, and the straps give ample support. It looks sturdy, not dainty.

Converse paint-splatter hi-top sneakers And why not? Who says you need to wear heels to your wedding? Perhaps you could change to these more comfortable sneaks for the reception, that way you can dance and mingle to your heart's content without feeling like your feet are killing you.

Valentino couture patent leather pumps
I just find everything about this shoe so beautiful. That perfect shade of red. That fun bow. That beautiful conical heel. It's just so fun and perfect.

Camilla Skovgaard collar leather and suede sandals
Badass shoes for the badass bride. These shoes are classic in color. It is a stiletto, but it's not quite the classic dainty shoe one might expect. It is both rugged and dainty. The shoe looks like you can wear it when climbing mountains.

Maison Martin Margiela two-tone leather sandals
Probably the most classic- and traditional-looking shoe you'll ever see me post here. I'm not one for classic and traditional but I could make an exception for these. They are so elegant-looking that I feel I might be transformed once I put these on. The colors are beautiful.

Different shoes for different folks. But if you ask me, you can wear whatever you want. It's your wedding day. Your day. Your happiness comes first, even if it means wearing an unusual or atypical shoe.
