On the Subject of Invitations

Every time a friend or relative gets married here, their invitations look pretty much the same to me.  Every time I look at the offerings and samples a popular printer has, they look the same to me.  The ones with a bit more personality are more expensive.  Also, I can't seem to find letterpress invitations here that I like.  That is, if I can find letterpress printers.

I would love for my invitations to be simple and pretty much straightforward, not to mention casual.  None of that flowing, overused Scriptina font (sad... it used to be one of my favorites), tissue paper inserted between the folds, or -- horrors! -- scent.  My preferences may be boring for some, and I could literally hear the disapproval in my head but when I do get married I should be able to call the shots.  When you get married, you should be able to call the shots as well.

I digress yet again.  The purpose of this post is to share with you some invitations I found online (where else?!) in hopes of inspiring some of you and also to serve as my scrapbook of sorts when it comes to invitations.  I've included a link where you could find these wonderful gems.

Bella Figura:

 Joy

Iconic (WW, but there's also MM and MW)

Anthology (Oh, the ideas I'm getting in my head for this one!)

Savannah (Too cute!  And is that a Supernatural reference I see?)

Tara (I love the colors and the fact that it kinda looks like a ticket)

Vintage Bloom (chocolate and fuchsia are beautiful together)

Enchanted Garden (anything with a peacock is fabulous to me)

Winter Chandelier (this is just so pretty)

Visit San Francisco (adorable! By the way, they also have Visit London and Visit New York.)

Cherry Blossom (cherry blossoms are always fresh and pretty)

Alright, I think that's enough for today.  This post was fun.  I'll surely do this again.

Another Shoe I Love

I love shoes, let's just get it out there.  My budget doesn't always allow for new shoes every week, but I make myself happy by merely looking at them.  I also love high heels and other shoes that seem uncomfortable to wear.  They look so beautiful, what can I say?

It doesn't help that I also run another blog called Net-A-Porting.  It just merely involves going on Net-A-Porter every other day or so to check for new items and then dream up outfits based on whatever's on it, old or new.  Anyway, I digress.  I was checking out Net-A-Porter today and this shoe just came in:

I love it! They're Valentino lace platform pumps and cost a dizzying £571.19 (I don't know why my Net-A-Porter prices are in British pounds and I don't know how to change it to US Dollars).

I think they would make great wedding shoes, especially if you're wearing a short dress and if you're into these sorts of things.  I might make an outfit on Net-A-Porting using this shoe, or maybe I'll just stare at it forever.

I was scrolling through Mimi and Karl's wedding photography website when I literally stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this picture.  What a gorgeous bride!
