Flowers
It's quite a given that weddings will have flowers or some kind of flora that the couple chooses. But this post is not about that. This post is about flowers and floral stuff on your wedding day that doesn't involve actual flowers.
There are days when I've wondered about sending bridesmaids in bright, happy floral dresses such as these:
How about floral neckwear for the men:
And then there are the shoes!
Happy, yes?

Alexander McQueen Mini-Dress
There are days when I just decide to browse the internet for dresses and with the recent royal wedding and all, I checked out to see what Sarah Burton has churned out for Alexander McQueen. Look what I found under the Spring/Summer 2011 tab:
It's the Embroidered Fin mini-dress and it's absolutely beautiful! Definitely something I'll consider or be inspired from when the time comes that I have to decide what to wear. You can click on the photo. It will take you to where the dress is on the Alexander McQueen US site. At that price though, I doubt any of us can actually buy this. But hey, I can get inspired anyways right?

Grey and Yellow
I've been thinking about color combinations and motifs lately and I've somehow gotten the grey-and-yellow bug. I'm kinda liking the look of it.
Here are some images I found online using the grey and yellow motif (click images for the source):

Styling the Bridesmaid
Please bear with me as I'm no professional stylist. I just like putting things together. How I do this is much like Polyvore, but I like putting my boards together more neatly, so I just do it in Photoshop. For more of my style boards, there's more HERE and HERE.
Back to Bride Station. So I decided to make some looks for bridesmaids. I've always found bridesmaids dresses (especially here in this country) to be very costume-y. You really can't wear them anywhere else except for that one occasion, so I just find it wasteful, not to mention that they're not to my taste at all. I'm just parking these here and hopefully somebody can get inspired.

More coming soon :)

Love Photography: Our Labor of Love (Jesse & Whitney)
I've been lurking Jesse and Whitney's site for about a couple of years now. I forgot how I got to find out about them, but I'm grateful I did. I love their work so much that I e-mailed them -- something I rarely do -- to tell them that I love their work and what they do and that hopefully if I get married one day I'll be able to afford them.
They are obviously my favorite.
I doubt that I'll be able to afford them, though (maybe when I win the lotto). And besides, there are many great, talented photographers here in the Philippines. But I love them still. It's nice to look at their photos and be inspired.

The Smallest Church With The Shortest Aisle
Unlike most women, I don't relish the notion of walking down the aisle. I hate the idea of everyone staring at me. I just feel I'll trip just thinking of these things. As you know by now, I'm not a princessy-type bride. I want the walk to be as short as possible, that is why I'm trying to find a church or chapel with a short aisle. I'm quite sure my dress or gown won't have a train either, so why bother with a long train? I know, I know... I'm non-conformist like that. A bit kups too, if you ask me.
Of course, short aisle would mean small church. Actually, I've had my eye set on one church in particular ever since I heard that they actually allowed weddings there. It's St. Pancratius Church inside Paco Park, which used to be a cemetery (or is it a cemetery still?). Here's a pic of the church I found on Flickr (credit goes to the photographers, of course):
The church is small and it's one of the things I love about it. It has a 100-person capacity. Any more, and it will be trouble. I'd love a small, intimate wedding where the invitees are the essential ones, people whom you really want to be there and celebrate the day with you.
It's quite an old church -- it has been around since the Spaniards were here, but it has been renovated in order to accommodate some modern conveniences such as air conditioning. I love the simplicity of its interiors as well.
My heart is really set on this church.

More Gown Inspiration from The Frock
The Internet is a wonderful thing most times. How else would I be able to know of this fabulous online vintage store known as The Frock? Not only do they have absolutely beautiful vintage clothes from the early 1900s onwards, they also have a special wedding/bridal section. I thoroughly enjoyed looking through tons of stuff.
And because they're vintage, they are pricey. But inspiration is free, right? So be inspired with some of these that I found beautiful, or go to the site itself to do some browsing on your own. I think all of them are amazing.
And this next one's not from the bridal page, but I just had to have it here:

And wow, I just realized that thoroughly sounded like a press release or a paid advertisement. HAHAH.

I actually stopped scrolling when this came around. I love lace, and the silhouette of this is fantastic.
It looks so light and comfy!
I know I said I'm not into the poufy thing, but would you just look at this? Feathers!
This will probably not look good on me per se, but the idea of a fairy tale gown that's not sweeping and poufy with a long train and all that really appeals to me.
Wedding or not, this is stunning.
Honestly, this is my favorite. It's just so simple and clean. Well, this and the Valentino dress at the top of the list are my favorites.
Simple and elegant.
I could get with this. This is so fashionista.
Seriously. THAT IS BEAUTIFUL.

Gowns
Not really a fan of poufy, princess-bride type of styles but it's only because I have hips that do not lie and such styles would only make them look worse. That being said, if I do get married, I'll probably wear something a bit more streamlined:

Elie Saab Spring 2011
I could probably get away with this. And I love lace more than beads, quite honestly.
Alexander McQueen Resort 2011
Seriously in love with this dress. I know it's black but just try to imagine it in some other color.
This one too. I think Sarah Burton did a great job taking over from what Lee McQueen left behind.
Elie Saab Spring 2010 (yes, Elie Saab again)
Can we just focus on how ethereal this looks? And I love the color!
